About Hosanna Community
Hosanna Community is a small nonprofit organization in Chattanooga, TN, dedicated to providing a safe,
supportive, faith-centered living environment for adults with disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or other
long-term challenges. Our goal is to foster independence, dignity, and community for every resident we
serve.
Position Summary
The Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive and administrative leader of Hosanna Community. The
ED is responsible for ensuring the organization’s mission is fulfilled through strategic leadership,
operational management, fundraising, community engagement, and strong stewardship of resources. This
role requires a compassionate, hands-on leader who can manage both day-to-day operations and long-term
organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Strategic Planning
- Provide visionary and operational leadership aligned with the mission and values of Hosanna Community.
-Work with the Board of Directors to develop long-range goals, strategic plans, and organizational policies.
-Maintain a positive, mission-centered culture among staff, residents, volunteers, and the community.
2. Operational & Program Management
-Oversee daily operations, including housing programs, resident services, staffing, safety, and facility management.
- Ensure high-quality care, support, and programming for residents.
-Supervise and support staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and professional development.
-Maintain compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
3. Financial Management
-Develop and manage the annual budget.
-Ensure prudent financial practices, including accounting, reporting, and internal controls.
- Oversee payroll, vendor relationships, and financial documentation.
- Present accurate financial updates to the Board of Directors.
4. Fundraising & Development
-Lead fundraising efforts including grant writing, donor engagement, annual giving campaigns, and fundraising events.
-Build and maintain relationships with donors, foundations, community partners, and faith-based organizations.
- Identify new funding opportunities to strengthen long-term sustainability.
5. Community & Public Relations
-Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for Hosanna Community.
-Build strong relationships with community organizations, churches, agencies, service providers,
and local leaders.
-Promote the organization through community outreach, media engagement, and public speaking.
6. Board Relations & Governance
-Support the Board of Directors by providing timely updates, reports, and recommendations.
-Assist in board development, including recruitment, orientation, and committee support.
-Ensure organizational policies and bylaws are followed.
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, public administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of leadership or management experience in nonprofit or human services organizations.
-Strong fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations experience.
-Experience working with individuals with disabilities, brain injuries, or supportive housing environments preferred.
-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
-Ability to multitask and manage a small team in a hands-on environment.
